Bad telephone communication service

On Feb. 12 2024 I unfortunately ran out of gas i am handicap vet.

Can not get to my gas tank to see level . I called to get refill. Woman who answered was very rude telling me tank must 30 % filled and I must call then . Then she stated it would be 7 to 10 days before delivery .

Okay well first when I signed up boss and called for other refill I was told 3 days to deliver. I said oh policy changed I'm sorry but I was not informed of this change . She didn't come out and say it but no more than called me a liar. This policy has been for over 7 to 10 years .

Again I said if I would have known all this I would have done same but I didn't. she did not want to hear this at all . Well I'll put this up they will get to it when they can . I said okay .

I'm not a mean person lived In this area all my life except when a served my country. I know weather conditions I don't want a human to risk their lives to deliver propane. My parents taught me how to survive. Plus military .

I have had good friendly service up to now but . This woman made think twice about changing providers though one bad apple doesn't make a team company . But if she continues like that you will lose business. This world is already crazy companies can't afford to lose business.

This was out of Gardiner ny . I will stay cause I have had good friendly service though this continues I will find new service

Bait and switch company

We signed a fixed price agreement to purchase fuel oil and propane from Kimlin Energy Services in August of 2021. The long and short of it is they began hitting us with Environmental Compliance Fees which were not part of the agreement, started charging us rates well beyond the contracted rates, eventually stopped delivering, tried to bill us back for the unused portion of the contracted quantities even though it had not reached the term of the agreement, held our money for months until we badgered them sufficiently to refund us most of it, and still owe us funds that did not get refunded.

I believe if you do a search of social media you will find this is a relatively common practice of this company (ie.

https://www.bbb.org/us/ny/gardiner/profile/propane-supplies/kimlin-propane-0121-4****/customer-reviews ). They regularly make up extra charges or fees, do not honor agreements, and when confronted with this do not return calls or other communications.

I have attached a sample of the communications we have had with them which include a summary of our claim. While I certainly want to get our money back I more strongly feel that this type of behavior is criminal and should be exposed.

Prebuying customer, auto delivery customer and always had nice customer service, until after so many years of doing this, they decide to overcharge while other companies are charging $2.59 or $2.79. So, looks like after giving good support to Kimlin I no longer trust them.

Call for propane a few times

so I called Kimlin for propane for my 100 gal propane tank for my generator, i lose power where i live like 20 times a year at least . the same women answers the phone most of the time.

i have been trying to get propane from this co for 5 years since they are a few miles away now the first 2 years I was able to get the propane for the almost going rate and when ever they decide to deliver, the customer has NO SAY in the matter about deliveries they say they will call and never do ! this is a co that is not built on customer satisfaction for the small customer because they have obviously categories for customers in stead of ever customer get treated equal ! so this time I call and ask for a fill up for next week 9/27/2021 the women says i need a credit card authorization I explain I am a senior citizen and only have a check and they always took a check before she say sorry we cant do that , so I ask anyway how much is your propane she say proudly ( 5.99 !!!! ) so I ask her ok then how mush is your fuel she say to me 3.

79 !!

, so now I feel like they exactly know how to take advantage of me as a customer because she is told by her management, so I say well I just received a delivery of fuel 200 gal for 2.54 and the propane from another co I spoke to this week quoted me 2.79 a gallon so I at this point felt like I was being robbed without a gun , why? because the company does not want to service my type of customer where its so important for me to have fuel and propane before the truck can not get up the road to get to me and I have to wait for my SS check so even when I told her I was a senior and can not go shopping around she did not care , its big business and they only want the large volume and auto contact customers.

w am aam hearing.

User's recommendation: If you need fuel oil go to a co. called the " Big O Fuel! they treat everyone respectfully and equal and if you want propane look elsewhere !

Propane service

Kimlin took 5-months to diagnose an issue with my hot water which took Kosco a 5-minute call to do the same. They charged me for service calls during which the man said he does not work on propane and sent another serviceman, I got charged for both.

Then I got charged for each misdiagnosis, I spent over $400 on labor/ parts, hours of phone calls and service calls, to still not fix the problem until Kosco confirmed the last diagnosis in 5 minutes. 5 months of losing hot water and They're solution was to remove the service fee but they will not provide service to my account. I am happy to not use their service when they want to charge $400 for a $40 expansion tank. They still have not gotten the job done 5 months later.

if I could give them zero points, I would.

Last year, despite being on automatic delivery, I ran out of propane 3x and several more times where I had to call to ask them to come out because I was getting low. It seems many other customers have had the same issue.

They finally corrected this by placing a meter at the unit to tell them when to come out. Customer service was rude, and took several different people to finally get this straightened out, and refunded on emergency calls when my propane heat ran out in mid-winter (despite having prepaid and on automatic delivery.)

To warn others not to get ripped off!!

Paid $2.55 per gallon. Called for next fill up.

All went well until I got the bill. $6.03 per gal with No Warning. Expected to pay about $130 for a fill up- was $414. I paid the bill expecting to get it straightened out and a refund-Not.

I told them to come and pick up their tank which I used for cooking for about a week- so still full. Had another company come in and they couldn't hook up to their( Kimlins) Illegal pipe install as it wasn't up to code.. I had to pay them to re pipe my service. So after 2 months of waiting for them to pick up their tank I called and threatened to put the tank by the road with a nasty sign on it- they picked it up in 2 days.

So -of my $414 I was issued a refund of $35. which I still have not received. Just a bunch of thieves and the customer service is Non-Existent. Beware.

You can see some positive reviews on this site--it's their friends and family. Who would come to this site and praise them!!

RUN FROM THIS COMPANY

Despite all the negative reviews I've read, and the horror stories I'd heard about KP, I decided to use them on the recommendation of my contractor. Well that was a huge mistake! They are crooks and their office staff is completely incompetent and rude. Safe yourself the trouble and ask around before using this company.

No heat for four days,due that propane has not been delivered.

The worst experience dealing with this company. I have been calling and leaving messages,since Tuesday 02/05/19 and today is 02/08/19. A very few times they have answered the phones,most of the times they are busy. They had promise to deliver the propane twice this week,but has not complied yet. when you promise you have to keep the promise. I am a senior citizen and have health issues. I think ,I need to take them to the court as soon as possible. Shocked

I agree with the review I just read from a gentleman that says they failed to deliver the propane even though I was on automatic delivery and owef no money to them they are a money hungry company that will not return customers calls and the owner whose father was a good business man the son now could care less about the customers and is money hungry disgusting

A Kimlin customer for almost 20 years when the Father ran the company he treated all his customers with respect NOW THE SON TAKES OVER OMG !!!! I've had Kimlin as my gas company for 2.5 years and have always had very friendly customer service experiences! I even recently started renting a commercial property, so have had a bit more exposure to the Kimlin folks. They. Are. Awesome. Absolutely fantastic and super nice, down to earth people!!! Today, I had an "above and beyond" experience that I feel is worth reviewing! This morning, someone was supposed to be coming out to change a faulty meter at my apartment and since I wasn't planning on being home we agreed that I would leave the front door unlocked so they could get into the basement to turn things back on when they were done. This, by itself, was a convenient set up for me! I wasn't even going to have to be there! However...I left the house, completely forgetting about this and went ahead and locked up as usual. I received a call from the driver almost immediately after handing my car keys over to a mechanic for an oil change and inspection. I was horrified (I must have apologized a hundred times) but he was so nice and laid back about it. He offered to just hang out until I was done at the garage and could make it home to let him in. The inspection took a bit longer than I anticipated and, since I was only a few miles from my house, he actually agreed to take a drive down to where I was to pick up my house key! He got his work done quickly and left my key inside with the door unlocked (as we agreed upon) and was even friendly with my little dog while updating me over the phone! He had every reason to be annoyed with me, seeing as what probably should have been a 15 min job ended up taking up about an hour and a half of his morning (thanks to my inability to remember to leave the door unlocked) but he was so forgiving and relaxed the whole time! His attitude inspired such a positive tone for the rest of my day! Love meeting those special folks that make you think "hm, there really are good people in the world" :) these guys are the best! Wish I could give more stars!

Charlatans and Thieves

We have a small (24 gallon) tank that we use only for our stove. Because we use propane very slowly, it seems that Kimlin thinks it's OK to charge us a $73 "Minimum Usage Fee." We didn't order propane within the time they think we should have, so they charged us $73. For NOTHING. They charge you for ordering propane, and they charge you for NOT ordering propane. And then, on top of that, I called them this past Monday (04.16.18) to order propane (we ran out on Sunday - there's no gauge on the tank, so you don't know you're out until you're out) and was told it would be Tuesday, 04.24.18 (8 days later) before they delivered to us, even though we were out of propane. They VERY helpfully pointed out that if we paid $150 extra, we could get a same day delivery, and for $80 extra, a next-day delivery. When I complained, I was told that "we like our customers to order more when they get below 25% in their tanks." I responded by saying, "There is no way to know how much is in our tank, since it has no gauge on it. How could I know when I'm below 25%?" The response: "Well, that's just how it is." And this is after having paid the $73 fee FOR NOTHING (because they wouldn't deliver propane without us paying that), we're told that we have to go 8 days without being able to cook unless we fork over more $$$. Today, I spoke to a manager named Angel who yelled at me when I questioned their business practices and said that if I didn't get the promise of a delivery before the end of the week and the "minimum usage fee" applied to my propane order, I would be taking my business elsewhere, post-haste. I told him that I'd be dropping off their propane tank and he again yelled, telling me that I could not do that and I had to let them pick it up and that there would be a $400 "restocking" fee for them picking it up. They are never getting another penny of my money, and I'm going to tell everyone I meet about how lousy their service is. Not that I need to, since almost every review you can find for Kimlin is extremely negative.

$73 would have bought you a gauge. Another 24 gallon tank (or smaller) with a tank selector switch wouldn't cost much for use as backup ; I think if I had an unreliable fuel supply like that I'd upgrade my equipment before concerning myself with supplier inequities.

Stove conks out ? Switch to -TANK B- then schedule refill of -TANK A - ; fill both when supplier arrives.
